About Caitriona

“I love working in clay - it’s such a versatile material & there is something deeply satisfying in shaping something with your hands…”

I was born in Co. Wicklow, Ireland & spent much of my 20s in London.  I studied Ceramics at Central Saint Martins School of Art.

I have been living and working in Provence, France for the past 25 years.

I simply love making anything in clay and I value the versatility of the material. Everything is built by hand, using either slabs or coils.

My pieces are unique, tactile and joyfully vibrant.

I often work in earthenware (red terra cotta or white clay) since the color range of the glazes fired around 1000°C is endless and hugely inspiring. I also work in stoneware for it’s strength in building and versatility and durability.

The forms are usually simple… I am inspired by art, by nature and by life around me!

I make small & large scale sculptures and objects – often whimsical and always one-off.

I am happy to take on commissions.
